Doctor-Led Weight Management Programme in Bengaluru
Doctor-Led Weight Management Programme in Bengaluru
A complete clinical care plan for obesity and related metabolic conditions — combining nutrition, physiotherapy, and continuous physician follow-up with prescription medical therapy, delivered under physician supervision throughout. Prescription-only. Physician-supervised.
Is this programme right for you?
You may be a candidate for evaluation if:
Your BMI is 27 or above
Your BMI is 25 or above, with an associated condition such as Type 2 Diabetes, PCOS, obstructive sleep apnoea, or hypertension
You’ve tried structured diet and exercise without lasting results
You want a medically supervised, structured plan
BMI is a starting screen, not a full diagnosis — your physician will also assess body composition, waist circumference, and overall metabolic risk before confirming eligibility.
What is the Advanced Metabolic Care Programme?
Obesity is a chronic medical condition — shaped by genetics, hormones, lifestyle, and psychology. The Advanced Metabolic Care Programme is RxDx’s physician-designed, 6-month protocol combining prescription medical therapy with clinical nutrition, structured strength training, and continuous medical oversight — managed as a long-term metabolic condition, not a short-term fix.
This therapy works most effectively — and results last longest — when paired with progressive resistance training and a protein-adequate diet. These are not added extras. They are built into your clinical plan from Day 1.
The programme addresses:
- Excess fat mass and central adiposity
- Insulin resistance and Type 2 Diabetes management
- Preservation of lean muscle mass — especially relevant for older patients
- Behavioural and psychological dimensions of weight gain

Why this programme does not end at Month 6
Clinical evidence shows this therapy works best as part of a long-term metabolic management strategy. In the pivotal withdrawal trial, patients who stopped treatment after achieving significant weight loss regained an average of 14% of their body weight within a year, and most regained at least a quarter of what they’d lost — which is why your Month 6 review includes a personalised plan for what comes next, whether that is a maintenance dose, an adjunct medication, or a structured monitoring approach.
While reaching a plateau is observed in some patients, dose is titrated based on your tolerance and not on a fixed schedule, and is never increased solely to push through a metabolic plateau. BMI normalisation — not a number on a scale — is your clinical target.
Led by specialists. Coordinated as one team.
Your programme is supervised by RxDx’s Chief Medical Officer and delivered by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team.
Monthly clinical reviews, prescription and dose titration, safety monitoring.
Coordinated with your GP’s monthly review, not a replacement for it.
Progress reviews and dietary adjustments throughout.
For older patients, the physiotherapy protocol specifically addresses lean-mass preservation with resistance training as the primary clinical tool.
Behavioural triggers, emotional eating, and psychological resilience — a structured session included in every plan.
Trained Nurses — Injection administration, vital monitoring, and patient education for safe self-management.
Choose your care model
We offer two delivery formats — same clinical protocol, different levels of at-home convenience. Both plans use the same prescription therapy on a physician-titrated, tolerance-based schedule; the difference is delivery format and maximum planned dose.

Metabolic Care — Advanced
Up to 7.5 mg weekly

Why RxDx

One coordinated team
GP, dietitian, physiotherapist, and counsellor work from a single shared care plan — not in silos.

Tolerance-based dose titration
Therapy starts at 2.5 mg and is stepped up only when clinically appropriate. No rushing the protocol.

Injectable therapy, consistent absorption
Once-weekly subcutaneous dosing avoids the swallowing and food-timing variability seen with oral GLP-1 tablets. Gastrointestinal symptoms remain the most common side effect of this drug class overall — usually mild-to-moderate and dose-related — and your GP manages this through slow, tolerance-based titration, never a fixed schedule.

Sarcopenia-aware physiotherapy
In the pivotal 72-week trial of this therapy, roughly a quarter of total weight lost was lean mass and three-quarters was fat mass — a ratio broadly in line with other significant weight-loss interventions, not a unique risk of this drug. Our physiotherapy programme still treats it proactively: progressive resistance training built in from Day 1, with added emphasis for patients over 65.

Specialist-backed, not just GP-led
A monthly online endocrinologist consultation adds specialist oversight on top of your GP’s care — particularly valuable for complex Type 2 Diabetes management, and not common at this price point.

Pan-Bengaluru access
10 branches. Start at one, continue at another. Teleconsultation available for follow-ups.

Integrated diagnostics and flexible payment
Lab, DEXA, and BCA in-house. Bajaj Finserv EMI available. Cashless OPD under select insurance plans. GST invoice on request.
Who is eligible — and what to discuss with your physician
Likely eligible if:
- BMI ≥27 kg/m², or ≥25 kg/m² with Type 2 Diabetes, PCOS, obstructive sleep apnoea, or hypertension
- No personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2 syndrome
- Not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy during the programme period
Tell your physician about:
- History of pancreatitis or active gallbladder/biliary disease
- Severe gastroparesis or significant gastrointestinal conditions
- Current use of another GLP-1 or GIP receptor agonist
- Established renal impairment (eGFR monitoring required)
- Baseline sarcopenia, frailty, or significantly reduced lean mass — especially patients over 65
- Insulin or sulfonylurea therapy (dose adjustment required — not a contraindication)
- History of significant psychiatric illness (monitored in programme; not automatically excluded)
- Oral hormonal contraceptive use — this therapy can delay gastric emptying and reduce contraceptive absorption; a non-oral or barrier method is recommended for 4 weeks after starting and after each dose increase
- Warfarin or other narrow-therapeutic-index medication — closer monitoring recommended during dose titration
- Upcoming surgery, endoscopy, or any procedure requiring sedation — tell both your GP and your procedural team
Absolute contraindications:
- Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2 syndrome
- Active pregnancy
All candidates complete a physician consultation and baseline blood work before any medication is prescribed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is this therapy and how is it different from other weight loss injections?
This programme uses a prescription medicine that acts on two gut hormone receptors simultaneously — GIP and GLP-1. This dual action produces stronger appetite suppression and metabolic effects than single-receptor agents. It is currently the only approved therapy in India that works this way — CDSCO-approved for both Type 2 Diabetes and chronic weight management, used here under physician supervision as part of a structured programme.

Can I enrol if I have Type 2 Diabetes and am on medication?
Most oral diabetes medications are compatible with this therapy. If you are on insulin or sulfonylureas, your GP will review and adjust doses to avoid hypoglycaemia. Full medication review is part of your initial consultation.
I live outside Bengaluru. Can I still enrol?
