Healthcare systems are increasingly shifting from fragmented hospital-based care to coordinated, community-focused primary care, says Dr Sumita Maheshwari, Senior Paediatric Cardiologist and Founder of RxDx Clinics. “Accessible, affordable primary care with multispecialty support is essential to address not just disease, but the everyday health needs of individuals and families,” she says.
According to Dr Maheshwari, this approach has guided the care model of RxDx Clinics since its inception in Bengaluru in 2007. Today, it operates multiple centres across the city, with a focus on strengthening comprehensive primary healthcare.

This integrated approach extends to oral health as well, says Dr Priyanka S Nidawani, Consultant Dentist (Periodontist) at RxDx Clinics, Electronic City. “Gum health is the foundation of oral and overall health. By focusing on diagnosis and treatment of gum disease and integrating it with primary care, we can detect links to conditions like diabetes and heart disease early, protecting wellbeing while supporting healthy smiles,” she adds.
The centre is supported by a multidisciplinary team including general practitioners, family physicians, diabetologists, ENT specialists, dentists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, gynaecologists, paediatricians and dermatologists.
ENT specialists, Dr Maheshwari explains, note that this integrated model enables preventive, acute, chronic and follow-up care seamlessly, highlighting the value of continuity in primary care.
