Heard about Dry Needling?
Somebody you know has taken it, or a physiotherapist has recommended it. But what is this technique? How does it work? Who can get some benefits from Dry Needling? Let’s find out from this video
Dry Needling treatment involves the insertion of a fine, sterile needle at the Myofascial trigger point (MTrP) to ease muscle pain and movement impairments.
How does Dry Needling work?
- Induces vasodilation
- Improves blood flow and oxygenation
- Restores haemostasis and accelerates wound healing
- Reduces the intensity of migraine and tension-type headaches
- Aids in fast pain relief
- Improves range of motion and flexibility
This technique is practised by physiotherapists upon evaluation of the patient’s health condition and other factors. Specialists recommend this procedure for the treatment of chronic pain, musculoskeletal pain, muscle tightness, arthritis, tennis elbow, spinal issues, tendinitis, and similar conditions.
If a persistent pain has been stopping you from doing things you love, be it dancing, playing your game of badminton, or carrying your little one on your shoulders at the temple fest, then it is time to consult your physiotherapist.

How is RxDx different?
Adil Kalyanpur- Indian Junior Tennis sensation, shares his experience and how he overcame his injury.
He also shares his views on RxDx SportsMed and how its beneficial for every sportsperson.
During my training for the half marathon, I developed problems with my left knee. Anytime I climbed the stairs after a run, I experienced severe pain. I was afraid that I will not be able to complete my half marathon with this problem. I needed a solution immediately from someone who understood sports injuries and their cure.
My friend, Shankar Swagathahalli, who had consulted with Gowtham last December for his knee problem recommended Gowtham’s name. When I talked to Gowtham, he came across as a thorough professional who knew exactly what the problem with my knee was. He recommended 12 sessions of physiotherapy for my knee and also gave me assurance that my knee would get really better.
The sessions with Gowtham were very effective and helpful as I started seeing my knee becoming stronger with every session. He knows the right kind of exercises and also the intensity of those exercises to make the knee stronger. He gave very useful tips for strengthening the back and core as well.
At the end of the 12 sessions, I could feel a significant reducing of pain in my knee. With that confidence, I completed my half marathon without much knee pain. A special thanks to Gowtham’s expertise in solving bone/muscle problems relating to sports. He made my half marathon experience possible and also enjoyable.
Highly recommend anyone with sports related issues to consult with Gowtham for a guaranteed cure.
Thanks and Regards
Gowtham worked with me over 12 sessions to strengthen my core, lower back and legs and I have seen a large improvement since we began. He has been highly professional, friendly, knowledgable and overall excellent in helping me back to fitness.
Would recommend him to anyone with the need for PT and will be on the top of my list if I were to suffer from anything in the future!
Thanks for the great experience!
