The Fibroscan device detects signs of early fibrosis / cirrhosis of liver associated with fatty liver disease, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and alcoholic liver disease.
Using this machine, we can also perform a quantification of fat in the liver and help the patient understand about the lifestyle modification and assess the improvement in liver condition annually.
At present this scan will be done once a month. We may increase the frequency to bimonthly based on the initial response.
Note:
- Patient needs to fast for 2 hours before this scan.
- SGPT levels should not be more than 2 to 3 times elevated from the normal levels, preferably, as it may present a false positive (high-level of fibrosis estimation).
