Overview

Cancer does not always announce itself. Many of the conditions in this package are designed to detect ovarian, breast, colorectal, thyroid, and liver cancers, among them can develop silently for months or years before symptoms appear. After 40, certain health risks in women tend to increase. Hormonal changes, family history, and age can all play a role, which is why early detection becomes especially important.

The Cancer Risk Assessment for Women Above 40 Years (Advanced) at RxDx Clinics builds on the standard cancer risk package by adding a low-dose Chest CT Scan and X-ray Mammography, two investigations that bring considerably more depth to lung and breast cancer screening. Mammography in particular is the recommended standard for breast cancer detection from the age of 40 onwards, and the CT scan offers a more detailed view of the chest than a standard X-ray alone. Together, these additions make this the more thorough option for women who want a complete picture rather than a starting point.

The full package covers tumour markers for ovarian, colorectal, pancreatic, liver, and thyroid cancers; a cervical Pap Smear; abdominal and pelvic ultrasound; a full blood count; stool testing for occult blood; and two consultations with an oncologist. Everything is coordinated in a single visit, with reports delivered digitally and specialist input included.

If you have a family history of cancer, haven’t had a check-up in a while, or want to be sure everything is okay, this package helps you get a clear picture of your health.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Mammography included, and what does it involve?

X-ray Mammography is the standard screening investigation for breast cancer in women from the age of 40. It uses low-dose X-rays to produce detailed images of breast tissue and can detect changes that are too small to feel during a physical examination. The procedure takes around 15-20 minutes and involves brief compression of each breast for a clear image.

What is a low-dose Chest CT scan, and why is it part of this package?

A low-dose Chest CT produces cross-sectional images of the lungs and surrounding structures, offering considerably more detail than a standard chest X-ray. It is used to screen for early-stage lung changes, including nodules that may warrant closer monitoring. It is particularly relevant for women with a history of smoking or prolonged exposure to environmental risk factors.

    What is a Pap Smear?

A Pap Smear (Pap test) collects a small sample of cells from the cervix to check for abnormal changes that could indicate cervical cancer or precancerous conditions. It is recommended for all women from their mid-twenties onwards, and annually from 40.

What are tumour markers, and how reliable are they?

Tumour markers are proteins or other substances produced by cancer cells or the body in response to cancer. Tests such as CA 125, CEA, CA 19.9, and AFP can indicate elevated risk or the presence of certain cancers, though they are not definitive on their own. Elevated results are interpreted in context alongside imaging and clinical examination during your oncologist consultation, which is why specialist review is built into this package.

What is the Stool Occult Blood Test?

This test checks for traces of blood in the stool that are not visible to the eye. Hidden blood loss can be an early indicator of colorectal cancer or pre-cancerous polyps, and detecting it early allows for timely investigation. No bowel preparation is needed, and a small stool sample is all that is required.

What is the turnaround time for reports?

Most reports — including blood tests, mammography, CT scan, and ultrasound — are available digitally on the same day or within 24 hours. The oncologist consultation will be scheduled once the complete report is ready.

What is the flow of the check-up?

On arrival: registration → vitals → sample collection → imaging (USG, CT scan, mammography) → Pap Smear → oncologist consultation. Our team coordinates each step to keep waiting time to a minimum.

Do I need to fast before my visit?

Yes, an overnight fast of 10–12 hours is required for certain blood tests. Water is permitted. Detailed preparation instructions will be shared after booking.

How is this package different from the Standard version?

The Advanced package includes all components of the Cancer Risk Assessment for Women Above 40 Years (Standard), plus a Low-Dose Chest CT Scan and X-ray Mammography. These two investigations add meaningful depth to lung and breast screening, making this package the more complete option for women who want a thorough annual review.

What happens if a result requires follow-up?

If any result — for example, an elevated tumour marker, an abnormal mammogram finding, or a suspicious area on ultrasound — needs further investigation, your oncologist will discuss the next steps clearly and our team will assist with any referrals or additional testing required.
